The Kick-off meeting of GUARDIANS
The Kick-off meeting of GUARDIANS has been held at CEA Nano Innov in Paris-Saclay on 13 & 14 October 2025.
The project will address emerging threats—whether a major nuclear power plant accident or a radiological crisis driven by geopolitical tensions—by enhancing Europe’s preparedness and response capabilities.
This is the core mission of GUARDIANS, a four-year European funded project, coordinated by CEA-List, gathering an interdisciplinary consortium of 22 partners from 11 EU member states. Together, we are working to develop:
– advanced technologies to better protect populations and field teams,
– the use of drones and robots for measurement, observation, and victim assistance missions,
– central platform, GUARDNET, to facilitate coordination, real-time management, and decision-making,
– innovative strategies for triage, decontamination, and medical countermeasures.
These two launch days mark the beginning of a collective adventure to build a more effective, secure and resilient European response to nuclear and radiological emergencies.
